What is Apadaz ?
Apadaz is an opioid analgesic that combines benzhydrocodone, a prodrug of hydrocodone, with acetaminophen. This prescription medication is designed for the short-term management of acute pain severe enough to require an opioid and for which alternative treatments are inadequate. It is administered orally and activates in the gastrointestinal tract for pain relief.
- Headache
- Sleepiness
- Constipation
- Lightheadedness, dizziness, fainting
- Anxiety, restlessness, fast heartbeat, fever, sweating, muscle spasms, twitching, diarrhea, seeing or hearing things that are not there
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Dark urine or pale stools, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, yellow skin or eyes
- Blue lips, fingernails, or skin
- Worsening of pain, increased sensitivity to pain
- Extreme weakness, shallow breathing, slow heartbeat, sweating, seizures, cold or clammy skin
- Changes in skin color, dark freckles, cold feeling, tiredness, weight loss
- Cold feeling, tiredness, weight loss
- Blistering, peeling, red skin rash
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, lung or breathing problems, adrenal problems, gallbladder problems, pancreas problems, thyroid problems, stomach problems, or a history of head injury or brain tumor, seizures, mental illness, or drug or alcohol abuse.
- Do not stop using this medicine suddenly. Your doctor will need to slowly decrease your dose before you stop it completely.
- This medicine can be habit-forming. Do not use more than your prescribed dose. Call your doctor if you think your medicine is not working.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
- This medicine may cause constipation, especially with long-term use. Ask your doctor if you should use a laxative to prevent and treat constipation.
- This medicine could cause infertility. Talk with your doctor before using this medicine if you plan to have children.

- This medicine may make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how this medicine affects you. Sit or lie down if you feel dizzy. Stand up carefully.
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
