Doxercalciferol is used to treat patients with kidney disease who are on dialysis. It is also used to treat secondary hyperparathyroidism. These conditions are associated with higher than normal levels of parathyroid hormone in the body. Doxercalciferol is a form of vitamin D that decreases the level of (PH) and increases the level of calcium and phosphorus in the body. It is indicated for use in adults and is available as a capsule.
