Deltasone works by decreasing your immune system's response to various diseases to reduce symptoms such as swelling and allergic-type reactions. It is used to treat a number of different conditions such as arthritis, blood disorders, breathing problems, severe allergies, skin diseases, cancer, eye problems, and immune system disorders.

  • This medicine may raise your blood sugar level, especially in people with diabetes.

  • This medicine could cause you to get infections more easily. Tell your doctor right away if you are exposed to chicken pox, measles, or other serious infection. Tell your doctor if you had a serious infection in the past, such as tuberculosis or herpes.
  • Tell your doctor about any extra stress or anxiety in your life. Your dose might need to be changed for a short time.
  • Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine. This medicine may affect certain medical test results.
