What is Crofab ?
CroFab is a commercial antivenom used for the treatment of venomous bites from North American pit vipers, including rattlesnakes, copperheads, and cottonmouths/water moccasins. It is a polyvalent immune F(ab')2 composed of immunoglobulin fragments derived from the venom-neutralizing antibodies of sheep, offering targeted therapy by binding and neutralizing venom toxins to alleviate symptoms and prevent complications. CroFab is typically administered intravenously and is most effective when given as soon as possible after the bite occurs.
