Ethacrynic Acid
Ethacrynic Acid 25MG
What is Ethacrynic Acid?
Ethacrynic acid is a loop diuretic used primarily to treat edema associated with conditions such as congestive heart failure, liver cirrhosis, and renal disease. By inhibiting the sodium-potassium-chloride symporter in the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle, it facilitates increased excretion of sodium and water, which helps reduce fluid overload in the body. Unlike other loop diuretics, it does not contain a sulfonamide group, making it a suitable alternative for patients with sulfa allergies.Side Effects
