What is Juxtapid?
Juxtapid (lomitapide) is an oral medication used to treat homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH), a rare genetic disorder that results in extremely high cholesterol levels. It works by inhibiting the microsomal triglyceride transfer protein (MTP), thereby reducing the production of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol in the liver.
