What is Doxepin Hcl ?

Doxepin HCl is a tricyclic antidepressant medication primarily used to treat major depressive disorder, anxiety, and neuropathic pain. It also has antihistaminic properties, making it effective in the treatment of chronic urticaria and as a sleep aid in lower doses. Doxepin functions by inhibiting the reuptake of neurotransmitters like serotonin and norepinephrine, thereby increasing their levels in the brain and helping to stabilize mood.
