¿Qué es Brineura?
Brineura (cerliponasa alfa) es una terapia de reemplazo enzimático diseñada específicamente para tratar una forma de la enfermedad de Batten conocida como enfermedad CLN2, un trastorno neurodegenerativo raro. Administrado mediante infusión intraventricular, Brineura ayuda a ralentizar la progresión del deterioro de la función motora en pacientes pediátricos afectados al reemplazar la enzima tripeptidil peptidasa 1 (TPP1), que es deficiente en estos individuos.Side Effects
- Fever, chills, cough, sore throat, body aches
- Severe headache, drowsiness, confusion, stiff neck or back
- Lightheadedness, dizziness, fainting
Warnings
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a history of heart disease, heart rhythm problems, low blood pressure, or a slow heartbeat. Tell your doctor if you have had surgery on your head.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:Increased risk of infections, including meningitisIncreased risk of heart disease, heart rhythm problems, or low blood pressure
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
