What is Qnasl?
Qnasl (beclomethasone dipropionate) is a nasal aerosol inhaler used for the treatment of nasal symptoms associated with seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis in adults and children. This corticosteroid medication works by reducing inflammation in the nasal passages, helping to alleviate symptoms such as congestion, sneezing, and runny nose. It is administered as a dry spray into the nostrils, typically once or twice daily as prescribed.
Side Effects
- Heavy or unexplained bleeding from your nose, bleeding that will not stop
- Trouble seeing, eye pain, seeing halos around lights
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
Warnings
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have asthma, tuberculosis (now or in the past), an infection (including a cold or the flu), a herpes eye infection, a history of glaucoma or cataracts, or recent exposure to chicken pox or measles. Tell your doctor if you had nose surgery, a nose injury, or sores or ulcers in the nose.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:Increased risk of glaucoma or cataractsIncreased risk of infectionAdrenal gland problemsSlow growth in children
- Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
- Red or white patches in your throat
