What is Vaqta?
Vaqta is an inactivated vaccine used for the prevention of hepatitis A virus infection in children and adults. - Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have an active infection (including hepatitis A), bleeding problem, or a weak immune system.
- This vaccine may not protect everyone who receives it. This vaccine will not treat symptoms of hepatitis A infection if you already have the disease. It is very important to take precautions to reduce the risk of hepatitis A infection.
- Yellowing of the skin or the whites of your eyes.
- Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
- This vaccine may cause a serious type of allergic reaction called anaphylaxis. Anaphylaxis can be life-threatening and requires immediate medical attention. Tell your doctor right away if you or your child have a rash, itching, swelling of the tongue and throat, or trouble breathing after you get the injection.
