Looking for a Skyrizi coupon? Skyrizi (risankizumab-rzaa) is a brand-name biologic with no generic or biosimilar available yet, so it can be expensive to fill without help. Enter your ZIP above to see today's Rx.com cash price on Skyrizi at pharmacies near you. Our free discount works whether or not you have insurance, and you can compare it against the manufacturer's savings program to find your lowest out-of-pocket cost.
What is Skyrizi and how does it work?
Skyrizi (risankizumab-rzaa) is a humanized monoclonal antibody (a biologic) that belongs to a class of medicines called interleukin-23 (IL-23) inhibitors. It works by selectively binding to the p19 subunit of IL-23, a protein in the immune system that drives inflammation. By blocking this signal, Skyrizi helps calm the overactive immune response behind several inflammatory conditions.
Skyrizi is FDA-approved to treat moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in adults and children 6 and older who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy, active psoriatic arthritis in adults and children 6 and older, moderately-to-severely active Crohn's disease in adults, and moderately-to-severely active ulcerative colitis in adults. It is given as a subcutaneous (under-the-skin) injection, and for inflammatory bowel disease the starting (induction) doses may be given as an IV infusion.
Skyrizi cost: manufacturer savings card vs. Rx.com cash coupon
There is no generic or biosimilar for Skyrizi at this time, so brand pricing applies. The maker, AbbVie, offers a manufacturer copay savings program through its official SKYRIZI Complete support service (details are on the manufacturer's site, skyrizi.com). Like most drugmaker copay cards, it is generally limited to people with commercial (private) insurance and is not available to those with Medicare, Medicaid, or other government coverage. Terms, eligibility, and any limits vary and can change, so confirm the current details directly with the program.
The Rx.com cash coupon is different: it is a discount on the cash price, so it can help when you are uninsured, when you have Medicare or Medicaid and can't use the manufacturer card, or when the card is declined at the pharmacy. You can't combine a manufacturer copay card with a cash discount on the same fill, but it's worth checking both to see which gives you the lower price. AbbVie also runs patient assistance for eligible patients who can't afford their medicine, which you can ask about through the same SKYRIZI Complete program. Skyrizi safety and side effects
Skyrizi does not carry a boxed warning. Because it affects the immune system, it can increase the risk of serious infections. Your provider should evaluate you for tuberculosis (TB) before you start and monitor you during treatment; Skyrizi should not be started in someone with active TB. Serious hypersensitivity (allergic) reactions have occurred. Liver injury has been reported, particularly in the Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis studies at the higher induction doses, so your doctor may check liver enzymes and bilirubin at baseline and through at least the first 12 weeks of induction. You should avoid live vaccines while on Skyrizi.
The most commonly reported side effects include upper respiratory infections, headache, feeling tired, injection-site reactions, and fungal skin infections. This is not a complete list. Tell your provider about all your medical conditions and medicines, and report any signs of infection or allergic reaction. Always follow your prescriber's instructions.
