What is Spikevax ?

Spikevax, formerly known as the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine, is an mRNA-based vaccine developed for the prevention of COVID-19. It works by instructing cells in the body to produce a protein that triggers an immune response without using the live virus that causes COVID-19. This vaccine is administered in a two-dose regimen and is authorized for use in individuals aged 6 months and older, demonstrating high efficacy in preventing severe illness and hospitalization caused by the virus.

• Anxiety, blue or pale skin, chest pain, fast heartbeat, trouble breathing
• Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
• Unusual tiredness or weakness

• This vaccine may increase your risk of serious heart problems (including myocarditis, pericarditis), especially after you receive the second dose.
• SARS-CoV-2 vaccine (mRNA-LNP, spike protein) is under investigation as an active immunization against COVID-19 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus in persons 6 months of age and older.
• This vaccine may not protect everyone who receives it. This vaccine will not treat symptoms of COVID-19 infection if you already have the disease.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a weak immune system (including patients who received an organ transplant) or a history of heart disease (including myocarditis, pericarditis).
