What is Steglujan?
Steglujan is an oral medication prescribed for the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It combines two active ingredients, ertugliflozin and sitagliptin, which work together to improve blood sugar control by increasing insulin release and decreasing sugar production in the liver. Steglujan is used alongside diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults.Side Effects

- Pain, tenderness, redness, or swelling of the in the area between the anus and genitals, unusual tiredness or weakness
- Blistering, peeling, red skin rash
Warnings
- Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine. You may need to stop using this medicine several days before you have surgery or medical tests.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:Pancreatitis (swelling of the pancreas)Low blood pressureDiabetic ketoacidosis (high ketones and acid in the blood), which can be life-threateningKidney problemsIncreased risk of genital yeast or urinary tract infectionsIncreased risk for lower leg or foot amputation (removal)Heart failureLow blood sugar, when used with other diabetes medicineFournier's gangrene (skin or tissue damage of the area between the anus and genitals)Serious skin reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant. Do not use this medicine during the second and third part of your pregnancy, unless your doctor tells you to.
- Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, low blood pressure, blood vessel problems, nerve problems, or a history of pancreatitis, heart failure, leg surgery or foot ulcers, or urinary or genital yeast infections. Tell your doctor if you are on a low-salt diet, if you drink alcohol, or if you are having a surgery or other procedures that require fasting.
- Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine. This medicine may affect certain medical test results.
