What is Astero ?
Astero is a prescription topical cream formulated to provide rapid relief from pain and inflammation associated with minor burns, cuts, and skin irritations. Its unique formulation includes lidocaine, which acts as a local anesthetic to numb the affected area, and additional ingredients to promote healing and prevent infections, offering patients both immediate and prolonged comfort.
- Eye irritation, sore eyes
- Redness, itching, burning, swelling, or blisters where the patch is applied
- Tremor or seizures
- Confusion, dizziness, drowsiness, lightheadedness
- Blurred or double vision
- Slow, fast, or uneven heartbeat
- Troubled or shallow breathing, trouble swallowing
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Pale, gray, or blue lips, nails, or skin, dark urine, headache, unusual tiredness or weakness
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
- Do not use a heating pad, electric blanket, or any other heat source over the patch. However, you may apply Ztlido® patch on the skin after exposure to a moderate heat setting.
- Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, heart problems, lung or breathing problems, porphyria (enzyme problem), a blood disorder, G6PD, or epilepsy.
- This medicine may cause methemoglobinemia (blood disorder).
- Do not give lidocaine solution to a child younger than 3 years of age for teething pain, unless your doctor says it is okay.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
