Proleukin, también conocido como Aldesleukin o interleucina-2 (IL-2), es una citocina recombinante utilizada principalmente en el tratamiento del carcinoma renal metastásico y el melanoma metastásico. Funciona estimulando el sistema inmune para atacar las células cancerígenas, promoviendo una respuesta antitumoral mediante el aumento de la proliferación y la actividad de los linfocitos, incluyendo las células asesinas naturales y los linfocitos T. - Dark urine or pale stools, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, yellow skin or eyes
- Rapid weight gain, swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet
- Fever, chills, cough, sore throat, body aches
Warnings
- Injection routeIt is not safe to take this medicine during pregnancy. It could harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. If you are a woman who can get pregnant, your doctor may do tests to make sure you are not pregnant before starting this medicine.
- Do not breastfeed during treatment with this medicine.
- Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems, liver disease, an autoimmune disease (including Crohn disease), a thyroid disorder, low blood pressure, or diabetes. Tell your doctor if you have eye problems, gallbladder problems, high calcium, seizures, any infections, or immune system problems.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:Capillary leak syndromeNerve problemsSerious infectionsKidney problemsColitis (inflammation of the colon)Thyroid gland problemsChanges in blood sugar levelsSerious skin reaction, including Stevens-Johnson syndromeHeart problems, including myocarditisInfusion-related reactions
- This medicine may make you bleed, bruise, or get infections more easily. Take precautions to prevent illness and injury. Wash your hands often.
