What is Febuxostat ?
Febuxostat is a potent, oral medication that functions as a xanthine oxidase inhibitor, primarily used in the management of chronic gout and hyperuricemia. By blocking xanthine oxidase, it prevents the body from converting hypoxanthine to xanthine and xanthine to uric acid, effectively reducing uric acid levels in the blood and minimizing the risk of gout flare-ups.
