What is Baxdela ?
Baxdela (delafloxacin) is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI) and community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP). It works by interfering with bacterial enzymes that are essential for DNA replication, transcription, repair, and recombination, effectively killing the bacteria. Baxdela is available in both oral and intravenous formulations, facilitating flexibility in treatment approaches depending on the severity of the infection.
