Benzefoam comes in the form of a topical foam and is used to treat mild to moderate acne. It works by reducing the amount of acne-causing bacteria and by causing the skin to dry and peel. Common side effects may include dry skin, skin irritation, itching, peeling and feelings of warmth. Do not use Benzefoam If you have an allergy to benzoyl peroxide or any other part of Benzefoam.

  • Mild stinging, itching, redness, or dry skin
  • Pain, burning, blistering, changes in color, dryness, itching, peeling, redness, scaling, stinging, or swelling of the skin where the medicine is applied
  • Swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue
  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
  • Fainting
  • Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
  • Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.
  • Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you ever had an allergic reaction to an acne product, or have other skin problems (including eczema, cuts, or sunburn).
  • Topical application routeDo not use this medicine to treat a skin problem your doctor has not examined.
  • This medicine may cause serious skin reactions, including skin irritation or contact dermatitis.
  • This medicine may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. Wear sunscreen. Do not use sunlamps or tanning beds.
