What is Foscavir ?
Foscavir, also known as foscarnet, is an antiviral medication primarily used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis in patients with AIDS and for the management of acyclovir-resistant herpes simplex virus infections. It functions by inhibiting viral DNA polymerase, blocking viral replication without incorporating itself into the viral DNA, making it a potent choice for managing these severe infections.
