What is Heplisav-B?
Heplisav-B is a recombinant hepatitis B vaccine for active immunization against hepatitis B virus infection in adults 18 years of age and older. The vaccine uses a novel adjuvant, cytosine phosphoguanine (CpG) 1018, to enhance immune response, allowing for protection with fewer doses compared to other hepatitis B vaccines. It is administered as two doses over a one-month period.Side Effects
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
