Humatrope is used to treat conditions associated with growth hormone deficiency or growth failure. These include adult human growth hormone deficiency, hypopituitarism, idiopathic Short Stature. It may also be used certain genetic conditions including turner’s syndrome, prader-willi syndrome and noonan syndrome. Humatrope is part of the treatment for AIDS related weight loss, short bowel syndrome and other conditions as prescribed by your doctor. Humatrope may be used by adults and children. It is available as an injection.
- Joint or muscle pain, stiffness or pain in your arms or legs
- Increased sweating
- Ear pain, fluid draining from your ear
- Swelling of the breasts or breast soreness (in both females and males)
- Pain, redness, burning, swelling, a hard lump, or skin changes where your shot is given
- Rapid growth or weight gain, swelling in your hands, legs, ankles, or feet
- Unusual bleeding or bruising
- Numbness, tingling, or burning pain in your hands, arms, legs, or feet
- Hip or knee pain, limping
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Changes in skin color, dark freckles, weakness, tiredness, weight loss
- Decrease or loss of body fat, especially in the face, arms, legs, or buttocks
- Headache, pain behind your eyes, vision problems
