What is Omegaven ?

Omegaven is an intravenous lipid emulsion used primarily to provide essential fatty acids and calories to pediatric patients who require parenteral nutrition. Composed of fish oil, it is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are known to be anti-inflammatory and support immune function and cellular integrity. Omegaven is specifically indicated to prevent and treat parenteral nutrition-associated cholestasis in infants.
