¿Qué es Sotradecol?
Sotradecol (sulfato de tetradecilo sódico) es un agente esclerosante utilizado en el tratamiento de venas varicosas pequeñas y no complicadas de las extremidades inferiores. Funciona induciendo inflamación y trombosis en la vena, lo que lleva a la fibrosis y obliteración de la propia vena, reduciendo así la apariencia y los síntomas de las venas varicosas. Administrado mediante inyección intravenosa, generalmente se utiliza cuando otros tratamientos conservadores han fallado o no son adecuados.Side Effects
- Numbness or weakness in your arm or leg, or on one side of your body, sudden or severe headache, problems with vision, speech, or walking
- Chest pain, trouble breathing, coughing up blood
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
Warnings
- Pain in your lower leg (calf).
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
- This medicine may increase your risk of having blood clots in the brain, heart, blood vessels, or lungs, which may lead to stroke, heart attack, deep vein thrombosis, or pulmonary embolism.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have an artery disease (including Buerger's disease).
