Ursodiol, also known as ursodeoxycholic acid, is a bile acid used to dissolve gallstones non-surgically and to treat primary biliary cirrhosis. SyrSpend SF is a suspending vehicle used to facilitate the oral administration of the medication, particularly improving palatability and stability. This combination is especially useful in pediatric and geriatric patients who may have difficulties with swallowing pills.

• Do not use in patients with known hypersensitivity to ursodiol or any component of the formulation
• Use with caution in patients with biliary tract dysfunction
• Use with caution in patients taking cyclosporine, as ursodiol can reduce its absorption
• Caution should be taken as the formulation may contain excipients which might cause allergic reactions
• Pregnancy: should only be used if clearly needed under guidance of a healthcare provider
• Breastfeeding: consult a health provider as ursodiol components can be excreted in breast milk
