What is Vandazole ?

Metronidazole is an antibiotic and antiprotozoal medication primarily used to treat a variety of infections caused by anaerobic bacteria and certain parasites. It is often prescribed for conditions such as bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, and certain types of gastrointestinal infections, including Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea. The medication works by disrupting the DNA of the infectious organisms, thereby inhibiting their growth and reproduction.

• Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment and for at least 48 hours after the last dose to prevent adverse reactions.
• May cause dizziness; avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how it affects you.
• Inform your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney problems, or blood disorders.
• Use with caution in patients with neurological disorders.
• May cause changes in blood cell counts; regular monitoring might be necessary.
• Prolonged use may lead to fungal or bacterial superinfection, including Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea.
• Not recommended for use during the first trimester of pregnancy unless absolutely necessary.
• Breastfeeding is not recommended during treatment, as Metronidazole can pass into breast milk.
• Allergic reactions like rash, itching, or difficulty breathing require immediate medical attention.
