What is Xaciato?
Xaciato™ (olanzapine) is an atypical antipsychotic approved by the FDA for the treatment of schizophrenia and bipolar I disorder. It functions primarily by balancing neurotransmitters in the brain to reduce symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and mood swings. Xaciato is available in tablet form and should be administered according to a healthcare provider's instructions.Side Effects
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Increased vaginal itching, burning, or discharge
- Severe diarrhea, bloody or black, tarry stools
Warnings
- Do not use polyurethane condoms during treatment and for 7 days after using the gel.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a history of stomach or bowel disease (including colitis, enteritis, or a C. diff infection).
- This medicine may cause vaginal yeast infections.
- This medicine can cause diarrhea. Call your doctor if the diarrhea becomes severe, does not stop, or is bloody. Do not take any medicine to stop diarrhea until you have talked to your doctor. Diarrhea can occur 2 months or more after you stop taking this medicine.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
