What is Proparacaine Hcl ?
Proparacaine HCl is a local anesthetic commonly used in ophthalmology to numb the surface of the eye (topical ocular anesthesia). It works by blocking nerve impulses, providing temporary relief from pain and discomfort during diagnostic procedures and surgeries such as cataract extraction or corneal abrasion repair. The onset of Proparacaine HCl action is rapid, typically occurring within 30 seconds, and its effect generally lasts for 15 to 20 minutes.
