What is Exemestane ?

Exemestane is an oral aromatase inhibitor commonly used in the treatment of hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women. It works by lowering estrogen levels in the body, thereby slowing the growth of specific breast cancer cells which require estrogen to proliferate. Exemestane is often employed as adjuvant therapy following the completion of initial treatments like surgery and chemotherapy.
