What is Praziquantel ?
Praziquantel is an anthelmintic medication that is primarily used to treat infections caused by schistosomes and other parasitic flatworms such as liver flukes. It works by causing severe spasms and paralysis in the parasites, leading to their eventual dislodgement and expulsion from the host body. Praziquantella exhibits high efficacy and is generally well-tolerated, making it a cornerstone treatment in the management of schistosomiasis and other fluke-associated infections.
