What is Calcium Citrate ?
Calcium citrate is a commonly used supplement that provides calcium in a highly bioavailable form, making it easier for the body to absorb, particularly for individuals with low stomach acid. It is utilized primarily to prevent or treat calcium deficiencies and to support bone health, reducing the risk of osteoporization. Additionally, calcium citrate is often preferred over other forms of calcium supplements due to its ability to be taken with or without food.

- If you are using a large amount of calcium or using it for a long time, your doctor might need to check your blood on a regular basis. Be sure to keep all appointments.

Make sure your doctor knows if you have had problems with too much calcium (hypercalcemia) or too little calcium in your blood (hypocalcemia). Some health problems that can cause hypercalcemia are sarcoidosis or problems with your parathyroid gland.
