Carbidopa-Levodopa-Entacapone is a combination medication that is used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, including shakiness, stiffness, and difficulty moving. Levodopa is a form of dopamine that is usually deficient in patients with Parkinson’s disease. Carbidopa makes levodopa available for transport to the brain and decreases some of the side effects of Levodopa. Entacapone inhibits the enzyme that breaks down levodopa, thus increasing the levels and presence of levodopa in the body. Carbidopa-Levodopa-Entacapone is indicated for use by adults and is available as a tablet.
