  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
  • Change in how much or how often you urinate, blood in the urine, swelling of the feet or lower legs
  • Swelling, pain, or redness where your IV needle is placed
  • Severe diarrhea (watery or bloody) that may happen after you have stopped using this medicine
  • Blistering, peeling, red skin rash
  • Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine. This medicine may affect certain medical test results.
  • Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you had an allergic reaction to penicillin or any other drugs, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, or a history of colitis or other digestive problems.
  • Take all of the medicine in your prescription to clear up your infection, even if you feel better after the first few doses.
  • This medicine can cause diarrhea. Call your doctor if the diarrhea becomes severe, does not stop, or is bloody. Do not take any medicine to stop diarrhea until you have talked to your doctor. Diarrhea can occur 2 months or more after you stop taking this medicine. This medicine may cause severe diarrhea for 2 or more months after you stop using it.
  • This medicine may affect the results of some glucose tests. If you have diabetes, ask your doctor about testing your glucose levels while you are using this medicine.
  • Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
