Danazol is a prescription only medication that is used to treat pelvic pain and infertility symptoms associated with endometriosis. Danazol works by preventing the growth of hormones that cause conditions such as fibrocystic breast disease and hereditary angioedema. Danazol is available as an oral capsule.
- Weight gain
- Acne, oily skin, deep or husky voice, or unusual hair growth
- Dark urine or pale stools
- Numbness or weakness in your arm or leg, or on one side of your body
- Chest pain, trouble breathing
- Nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, pain in your upper stomach, yellow skin or eyes
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Blistering, peeling, red skin rash
- Headache or changes in vision
- Swelling of the face, hands, arms, legs, or feet
- It is not safe to take this medicine during pregnancy. It could harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. You should use birth control that does not have hormones while you take this medicine.
