What is Daunorubicin Hcl ?
Daunorubicin HCl, a hydrochloride salt form of daunorubicin, is an anthracycline antibiotic and chemotherapy agent widely used in the treatment of various cancers, including acute lymphoblastic and myeloid leukemia. It functions by intercalating DNA and inhibiting topoisomerase II, leading to the disruption of DNA replication and transcription, ultimately inducing apoptosis in dividing cells. Daunorubicin HCl is typically administered intravenously and is known for its potent antitumor activity as well as its cardiotoxic side effects.
