¿Qué es Dupixent?

Dupixent (dupilumab) es un anticuerpo monoclonal diseñado para inhibir la señalización de la interleucina-4 y la interleucina-13, dos proteínas que desempeñan un papel clave en el proceso inflamatorio asociado con varias enfermedades crónicas. Se prescribe para el tratamiento de dermatitis atópica moderada a grave, asma principalmente impulsada por inflamación eosinofílica o alérgica, y rinosinusitis crónica con poliposis nasal, ayudando a reducir los síntomas y mejorar la calidad de vida.

Side Effects

• Burning, dry, or itching eyes, discharge, excessive tearing
• Fast heartbeat, trouble breathing, chest pain
• Fever, chills, cough, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, body aches

Warnings

• This medicine may cause the following problems:Increased risk for eye infections, including conjunctivitis or keratitisJoint painEosinophilia, including pneumonia or vasculitis (swelling of the blood vessels)
• Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
• This medicine will not stop an asthma attack that has already started. Your doctor may prescribe another medicine for you to use in case of an asthma attack. Tell your doctor right away if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have eye or vision problems, lung or breathing problems, heart problems, or a parasite infection.
• Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
