What is Fluvastatin Sodium Er ?
Fluvastatin Sodium ER is an extended-release formulation of fluvastatin, a lipid-lowering agent that belongs to the class of drugs known as statins. It works primarily by inhibiting the enzyme HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a crucial role in the production of cholesterol in the liver. Fluvastacin is prescribed to reduce levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood, and to increase levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, aiding in the prevention of cardiovascular disease and related conditions.
