What is Forteo ?
Forteo (teriparatide) is a synthetic form of parathyroid hormone used primarily in the treatment of osteoporosis. It works by stimulating new bone formation and increasing bone mineral density, thereby reducing the risk of fractures. Forteo is typically prescribed for individuals with severe osteoporosis who are at high risk for bone fractures.

- Unusual tiredness or weakness

- This medicine may increase your risk of having a bone cancer.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, or if you have kidney disease (including kidney stones), parathyroid disease, other bone disease (including Paget's disease of the bone), open epiphyses (bones are still growing), or a history of bone cancer. Tell your doctor if you had a bone radiation treatment.
- Do not breastfeed during treatment with this medicine.
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
- This medicine may make you dizzy or drowsy. Do not drive or do anything that could be dangerous until you know how this medicine affects you. Stand or sit up slowly if you feel lightheaded or dizzy.
- Injection routeThrow away used needles in a hard, closed container that the needles cannot poke through. Keep this container away from children and pets.
