What is Bisacodyl ?

Bisacodyl is a stimulant laxative used to treat constipation and to clear the bowels before medical procedures, such as colonoscopy. It works by stimulating the nerves in the colon, leading to bowel movements. Bisacodyl is available in both oral and rectal forms and typically acts within 6 to 12 hours when taken orally, and faster if used rectally.
