What is Heparin Sodium (Porcine) ?
Heparin Sodium (Porcine) is an anticoagulant medication derived from porcine (pig) intestinal mucosa, used to prevent and treat thrombosis and embolism. It works by inhibiting the formation of blood clots, effectively managing and reducing the risk of complications such as stroke and heart attack. This medication is administered intravenously or subcutaneously under strict medical supervision due to its potent effect on blood coagulation.
- Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting
- Numbness or weakness on one side of your body, sudden or severe headache, or problems with vision, speech, or walking
- Redness, pain, swelling, itching, blistering, sores, or rash where the needle is placed
- Chest pain, trouble breathing, or coughing up blood
- Unusual bleeding, bruising, or weakness
- Increased menstrual bleeding
- Severe stomach pain, vomiting blood, bloody or black, or tarry stools
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Trouble breathing
