What is Hiberix ?
Hiberix is a vaccine indicated for the active immunization against Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib), a bacterium responsible for severe infections such as meningitis, pneumonia, and epiglottitis, especially in young children. It contains purified polyribosyl-ribitol-phosphate capsular polysaccharide of Hib linked to a tetanus toxoid protein, enhancing the body's immune response to the bacterium.

- Fever

- Do not administer to individuals with a previous severe allergic reaction to any component of the vaccine or after a previous dose.
- Use caution in individuals with thrombocytopenia or any coagulation disorder because bleeding may occur following intramuscular administration.
- As with any vaccine, Hiberix may not protect 100% of individuals receiving the vaccine.
- Vaccination should be postponed in individuals suffering from an acute severe febrile illness.
- Inform your healthcare provider if the child has a weakened immune system or is taking immunosuppressive therapy, as the vaccine may be less effective.
- Notify the healthcare provider if there is any history of Guillain-Barré syndrome.
