What is Humatin?
Humatin (paromomycin sulfate) is an aminoglycoside antibiotic used primarily as an anti-parasitic agent to treat intestinal infections caused by certain parasites, such as amoebiasis and tapeworms. It functions by inhibiting protein synthesis in susceptible organisms, thereby eradicating the infection. Humatin is also sometimes used in the management of hepatic coma as an adjunct therapy.Side Effects
- Severe on-going diarrhea
- Hearing loss, ringing, or pressure in your ears
- Urinating less than one cup in a day

- Make sure your doctor knows if you have stomach or bowel problems (such as ulcerative colitis) or myasthenia gravis before taking paromomycin.
