What is Intuniv?
Guanfacine HCl ER (extended-release) is a centrally acting alpha-2 adrenergic receptor agonist used primarily for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents. By modulating receptors in the prefrontal cortex, it helps improve attention, impulse control, and executive functioning. Additionally, Guanfacine ER is sometimes prescribed for managing hypertension, as it also exerts effects that reduce vascular resistance and heart rate.Side Effects
