Lincocin is a member of the lincomycin derivatives drug class and used to treat patients with severe bacterial infections. This medication will not treat patients with viral infections such as the cold or flu.

  • Swelling, pain, or redness under your skin where the needle is placed
  • Trouble breathing, mouth or throat swelling
  • Lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  • Blistering, peeling, red rash
  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
  • Diarrhea that may contain blood
  • Unusual bleeding, bruising, or weakness.
  • Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
  • Light-headedness or fainting.
  • Shortness of breath, cold sweat, and bluish-colored skin.
  • Swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, or a history of asthma, allergies, or stomach problems.
  • This medicine can cause diarrhea. Call your doctor if the diarrhea becomes severe, does not stop, or is bloody. Do not take any medicine to stop diarrhea until you have talked to your doctor. Diarrhea can occur 2 months or more after you stop taking this medicine.
