What is Maxidex ?
Maxidex (dexamethasone ophthalmic suspension) is a corticosteroid eye drop formulation used to treat inflammation and pain associated with ocular conditions, such as after eye surgery or in certain eye infections. The active ingredient, dexamethasone, works by inhibiting inflammatory responses in the eye, thereby reducing swelling, redness, and discomfort. It is prescribed for short-term use under close medical supervision to avoid potential side effects, such as increased intraocular pressure and the risk of secondary infections.

- Blurred vision or change in vision
- Increased pain, redness, discharge, swelling, or irritation of the eye
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Increased eye pain
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have asthma, allergies, glaucoma, cataracts, or an eye infection.

- Ophthalmic routeIf you hurt your eye, develop an eye infection, or need to have eye surgery, talk with your doctor right away. You may need to change your medicine or stop using it. Tell your doctor if you had a cataract surgery.
- You will need to have your eyes checked regularly, especially if you use Maxidex® for 10 days or longer. Be sure to keep all appointments.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
- Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
