What is Provayblue ?

Provayblue, also known as methylene blue, is a medication primarily used in the treatment of methemoglobinemia, a condition where hemoglobin is unable to effectively release oxygen to body tissues. Administered intravenously, it works by converting the ineffective methemoglobin back into functional hemoglobin, thus improving oxygen delivery and tissue oxygenation. It is also used in the management of ifosfamide-induced encephalopathy and can serve as a diagnostic dye in surgical procedures.
