What is Tezspire?
Tezspire (tezepelumab-ekko) is a monoclonal antibody used as an add-on maintenance treatment for severe asthma in patients aged 12 years and older, whose asthma is inadequately controlled with other medications. By targeting and inhibiting thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), Tezspire helps reduce asthma exacerbations and improve overall lung function.Side Effects
- Redness, itching, or swelling of the eyes
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
Warnings
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a parasite infection.
- Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
- This medicine will not stop an asthma attack that has already started. Your doctor may prescribe another medicine for you to use in case of an asthma attack. Tell your doctor right away if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.
