What is Vasopressin-Sodium Chloride?
Vasopressin-Sodium Chloride injection is a combination medication used in the management of diabetes insipidus and to increase blood pressure in adults with vasodilatory shock, when conventional treatments have failed. Vasopressin, an antidiuretic hormone analog, helps control water balance and blood pressure by reducing urine output and increasing water retention, while sodium chloride helps to maintain osmotic balance and blood volume in the body.Side Effects

Warnings
- Do not use in patients with chronic nephritis with nitrogen retention unless the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
- Caution is advised in the treatment of patients with coronary artery disease or congestive heart failure.
- May cause water intoxication and/or hyponatremia if given inappropriately.
- Monitor fluid balance, serum sodium, and osmolality in patients receiving therapy.
- Allergic reactions, as severe as anaphylaxis, may occur.
