What is Xelpros ?
Xelpros (latanoprost ophthalmic emulsion) is a prescription eye drop used to lower intraocular pressure (IOP) in individuals with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. It is a prostaglandin analogue that works by increasing the outflow of aqueous fluid from the eyes to effectively reduce eye pressure, helping to prevent damage to the optic nerve and loss of vision.
- Increased brown color in the colored part of the eye (iris), which may be permanent, darkening of the eyelids
- Longer, thicker, and darker eyelashes
- Eye discharge, tearing, or itching
- Eye sensitivity to light
- Chest pain
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Blurred vision or other changes in vision
- Severe eye irritation or inflammation
- Seeing sparks or flashes of light
- Tell your doctor if you get an eye infection, have an eye injury, or have eye surgery while being treated with this medicine. You may need to get a new bottle of the eye drops to help prevent an eye infection or to keep an eye infection from getting worse.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have other eye or vision problems, eye infection (including herpes simplex eye infection), or a history of eye inflammation (including iritis or uveitis).
- Ophthalmic routeIf you hurt your eye, develop an eye infection, or need to have eye surgery, talk with your doctor right away. You may need to change your medicine or stop using it.
- Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk with your doctor before using this medicine.
