What is Tnkase?
Tnkase (tenecteplase) is a tissue plasminogen activator indicated for the treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI), commonly known as a heart attack, to reduce the incidence of heart failure and mortality associated with AMI. Administered intravenously, Tnkase works by aiding the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, thereby facilitating thrombolysis of occlusive blood clots in coronary arteries.Side Effects
- Lightheadedness or fainting
- Sudden or severe headache, problems with vision, speech, or walking
- Blood in the urine or stools
Warnings
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have bleeding problems, blood clotting problems, heart failure, or heart rhythm problems.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:Bleeding problemsBlood clotting problems, including thromboembolism
- Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine. This medicine may affect certain medical test results.
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
- Coughing up blood.

- Numbness (loss of feeling), tingling, pain, or darkening of the skin of your toes.
- Numbness or weakness in your arm or leg, or on one side of your body
- Chest pain, trouble breathing, coughing or vomiting blood
- Unusual bruising, bleeding, swelling, or pain anywhere in your body
- Sudden or severe headache, problems with vision, speech, or walking.
