What is Vosevi?
Vosevi is an antiviral medication used to treat chronic hepatitis C in adults with genotype 1-6 infections who have previously been treated with an HCV regimen containing an NS5A inhibitor or have genotype 1a or 3 infections and have been previously treated with a regimen containing sofosbuvir without an NS5A inhibitor. It is a fixed-dose combination tablet containing sofosbuvir, velpatasvir, and voxilaprevir, which work together to inhibit viral replication and reduce the amount of hepatitis C virus in the body. Vosevi is typically prescribed as a once-daily oral treatment for a duration of 12 weeks.Side Effects
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Dark urine, pale stools, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, yellow skin or eyes
- Fainting, dizziness, lightheadedness
Warnings
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:Increased risk of reactivation of hepatitis BWorsening of liver problemsSlow and uneven heartbeat when taken with amiodarone
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, other liver disease (including hepatitis B), or heart disease.
